I’m going to be doing tommorrow’s demo on Inform, which is a design system for creating parser-based interactive fiction. (To borrow from Bad Object, this is an example of parser based IF, although we won’t be able to add images.)
In order to make these games, you’ll need to download Inform. You can do that here.
To play many of these games, you’ll also need an interpreter, which you can download here. (Gargoyle for Windows and Splatterlight for Mac are commonly recommended, but they all have different strengths, so it’s really just personal preference.) You won’t need an interpreter for tommorrow, though, because we’ll just be making things.
